69 Ways

Money is Like Sex

Spicy Insights for Streamlining Your Business Finances

Why write a book called 69 Ways Money Is Like Sex?

Because of a woman named Sarah Halterman. One day, I asked her, “How can I stand out in networking when everyone offers financial services or consulting?” She thought about it and said, “Working with you is kind of like going to the gynecologist for the first time.” I blinked. She continued, “It’s emotional. It’s uncomfortable. People don’t know what’s going on behind closed doors. They’re afraid you’ll judge them. But once they’re in your care, they feel seen, safe, and empowered.”

That stuck with me. I started to think differently about how I build trust. About the vulnerability it takes to talk about money. And I remembered that I’d once wanted to become a sexologist. My degree is in sociology with a minor in human sexuality, after all. That interest never fully left me.

Then I attended a mastermind with Marley Jaxx and Scott Simson.

They encouraged us to find something personal to weave into our brand. I said, “I don’t really have time for hobbies—I have two little boys and a business!” But I mentioned my fascination with sex and how I’d studied it in college. They said, “Why not combine the two?”

Shortly after that, I heard Scott McKain speak at a RockStar Mastermind and share the story of Taxi Terry. What stuck with me most wasn’t just the story—it was what he said afterward: “You don’t need to be better. You need to be creatively different.” It felt like he was talking straight to me.

Sex and money. Two taboo topics. Both deeply emotional. Both full of shame and misunderstanding. But I’ve always talked about both openly. And that’s when the idea for this book was born.

This isn’t just another book about budgeting or business finance. It’s not about spreadsheets or tax codes. It’s about your relationship with money. How it affects your identity, your decisions, your joy. Just like sex.

I wrote this book to be fun, insightful, and empowering. Because money doesn’t have to be cold or complicated. It can be personal, playful—even spicy.
I’m not here just as a strategist. I’m here as someone who’s been through the mess. The foreclosures. The guilt. The debt. The shame. And I’ve come out on the other side—not perfect, but profitable.

This is my story. And I hope this book helps you rewrite yours.
